Player Waiver: Code of Conduct - WWSL

WWSL Code of Conduct

We welcome you to the Westchester Women’s Soccer League (the “WWSL”)!
The purpose of the WWSL is to meet the competitive and recreational soccer needs of women with an emphasis on camaraderie and sportsmanship. The WWSL welcomes all eligible friendly players, but we emphasize that playing soccer within WWSL is a privilege. In order to continue this privilege the WWSL requires that our players conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner and with utmost respect for the WWSL, other players and other individuals within our league. The WWSL requires all players to review and abide by this Code of Conduct and to sign the acknowledgement below.
In connection with any and all WWSL activities, I agree:
1. and acknowledge that WWSL has zero tolerance for discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, color, sexual orientation, religion, national or ethnic origin, political beliefs, veteran status or disability unrelated in the ability to participate in the sport of soccer and I agree not to engage in any discriminatory or harassing behavior in connection with all WWSL activities. I agree to respect the rights, dignity, and worth of every person regardless of race, color, sexual orientation, religion, national or ethnic origin, political beliefs, veteran status or disability;
2. violence and unsportsmanlike behavior are threatening to the WWSL and will not be tolerated, including, without limitation, violent behavior, threatening behavior and/or remarks, repeated foul language, denigrating remarks, unsportsmanlike behavior, rude gestures, spitting at an individual, yelling at or disparaging teammates, opposing players, referees and/or spectators, engaging in unsafe play, taunting or excessive celebration, physical assault, or other inappropriate behavior or remarks. I agree not to engage in any such behaviors;
3. any actions or inactions portraying the WWSL in a negative light and/or threatening and/or detrimental to WWSL directly or indirectly will not be tolerated and I agree not to participate in, facilitate or otherwise assist any such behaviors;
4. to follow all rules established by FIFA and the WWSL;
5. to demonstrate respect to the referee(s) and I understand they will make mistakes;
6. that my attendance and on-time arrival to games are important to the WWSL’s and my team’s success and I will use my best efforts to attend games and arrive on time; and
7. to strive to create a welcoming and fun atmosphere for everyone.
I hereby acknowledge and agree that I have read and understand the WWSL Code of Conduct and agree to abide by it and to practice good sportsmanship throughout my participation in the WWSL. I understand and agree that my failure to comply with the standards and/or the spirit of the standards set forth above and/or as amended from time to time may lead to discipline, including without limitation, my suspension from games and/or possible expulsion from the WWSL. I also understand and agree that all penalties for violations are determined solely by the WWSL Board of Directors and/or its designees.
